Oppo- I’m planning a trip to the 24 Hour Race at Daytona, and i see online that they don’t allow RVs greater than 20 feet. We were planning on renting one but not sure if its worth it to pack three of us in a 20 footer. Looking at the pictures on their website, theres definitely RVs longer than 20 feet. Does anyone know how strictly its enforced or have any other suggestions for it?
2015 Lime Rock Pictures for attention.

Don’t really know about how strict they are (might depend on the event), but have you thought about parking off-site? That area of Florida is basically one giant convention center built around bike week, the golf course, and the speedway, so an RV campground within walking distance might not be hard to come by.

Three people in a 20 footer will be cozy. I would say if two of the three of you are a couple and can sleep together it wouldn’t be a problem. My wife, myself and our 2 kids have a 20 foot travel trailer and it works for us

20' width?? I don’t know, never been, but it would make sense to get 20x50 space then you have area for canopy and cooking.

You should probably context that you’re looking at the Geico Campground, and the limit is because that section is predominantly for tents but pop-ups are allowed as long as they’re relatively small.
The spaces are 20x35, the pop-up and tow vehicle will more-or-less fill the 35', I imagine that’s why 20' in the maximum size.

You can fit three people in a 7'x7' tent. 6'x6' if you’re short. 20' camper rental almost seems excessive.
They could put a temporary size limit on for the race just cause it’ll be busy so they can pack more people in, at least that would be my guess.

I was really hoping to show up and not have to move at all. Makes for having beers much easier.

Ahh, are there multiple camping areas? They don’t have anything up for 2018.a and 2017 is sold out already.

Unfortunately, its me, my dad and maybe my older brother, so no bunking up together.

At the very bottom, it says 20ft length and 8 ft height which seems odd

I would call them and deal with it over the phone if you still wanted to go.

At least you can get some clarification. 20x8 is barely the size of a pickup truck.

I was looking at the 2017 camp sites, I imagine they’d stay somewhat consistent for 2018 unless Daytona adds or changes some areas.
If I had to guess, camp sites would go on sale at the same time tickets for the event go on sale, it doesn’t make sense to sell spots for an event that doesn’t officially have a date yet.

And here I was thinking about building a quinzee in my back yard and seeing how long I could get away with sleeping in it...
